FAQs
Are you you still selling pieces?
The last spinning mill in Poland working with Polish wool shut their doors in April, after more than 40 years of production! As I have built my business around working with locally sourced and spun wool from Poland, I no longer have a resource for yarn. Therefore, I will be selling the last of my pieces at the Fly Buy Craft Fair in Greenville, ME on September 6 & 7. If you want to receive updates on the future of Honeycomb Knits, sign up for the newsletter!
What are your pieces made of?
Honeycomb Knits currently uses two types of wool found in Poland - Polish Mountain Sheep wool and Polish Merino wool. Please see the Polish Wool page for more information.
Currently, Honeycomb Knits uses undyed wool yarn - there are four colours of Polish Mountain Sheep yarn - white, light gray, dark gray, and black. There is only one colour available in the Polish Merino yarn - white.
Can I order a custom piece?
Perhaps! It depends on my time and materials available. Please reach out to me on the contact page if you would like to put in a request for a custom design.
Can I return or exchange my piece?
Yes, I accept returns on full price items within 30 days. Customers will be responsible for paying the cost of shipping. I can also arrange exchanges on full price items. Please read the return policy for further information and reach out via the contact page with any questions.
How do I care for the pieces?
Hand wash cool and air dry flat. Air dry as much as possible instead of washing (wool is self-cleaning). Usually a few hours in a sunny spot outside does wonders to wool. Remove pilling with a sweater stone or razor or gently with fingers if the material doesn’t pull too much. Pills are the little fuzzy balls that appear on the surface of wool items, often in high friction areas.
How to store pieces?
If you are storing wool products for the long term, it is recommended to clean them first and then keep them in an airtight container. Lavender sachets and cedar blocks are known to keep woollens smelling fresh and help deter vermin.
Do you sell patterns? Kits?
Not yet, but hopefully in the future! If you would like to see something in particular from Honeycomb Knits, let us know in the contact page!
Some things to remember :)
I am currently a one person show. I work with respect to my time and creativity. Some made to order and custom orders will take me 3 weeks and others will take up to the full 8 weeks due to current demand. Thank you for interest in my business and I look forward to working with you!
